# Activation And Surfaces

> Choose where launch presets appear and whether they apply to the form or launch immediately.

Activation controls where a preset appears and what happens when you use it. A preset can have multiple activation rows, so the same preset can be available from more than one surface.

## Apply Or Launch

Every activation row has an action.

| Action     | What it does                                                               |
| ---------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Apply** | Updates matching create-form values and lets you review before launching |
| **Launch** | Launches using the current create form plus the preset's **Set** overrides |

<Warning>
  A **Launch** keyboard shortcut or button can submit a launch quickly. Use clear preset names, visible markers, and safe hotkeys for launch-mode presets.
</Warning>

| **AI name** | You want the preset beside AI-generated names and past-coin AI names. | Use **Edit AI button layout** to choose button order and placement. |
| **Vamp** | You want preset buttons on Vamp result rows. | Use **Edit Vamp button layout** to arrange Vamp preset buttons. |
| **Create form** | You want the preset available while preparing a coin. | Name and mixed presets appear near the name fields; configuration-only presets appear near launch controls or in the amount selector. |
| **Saved coins** | You want an image or marker tile in the Saved Coins tab. | Saved coin presets are useful for fixed coin identities, reusable launch targets, and quick launch tiles. |

## Create Form Presets

Create-form presets are split by behavior:

* Presets with name, ticker, image, link, or mixed behavior appear in the name preset rail.
* Configuration-only presets appear in the config preset rail or the amount selector preset popover.
* Configuration-only presets can be marked as the default create-form preset from **More Presets**.

Use **Apply** for create-form presets when you want to inspect the result before launching.

## AI Name And Vamp Layouts

AI name and Vamp surfaces use marker buttons. The marker comes from the preset profile icon, emoji, text marker, or default marker.

Use the layout editor to:

* Reorder preset buttons.
* Change how buttons are arranged in columns.
* Keep the most important launch buttons easiest to reach.

<Tip>
  Put **Apply** presets and **Launch** presets in visually distinct positions. This makes fast surfaces easier to use safely.
</Tip>

## Saved Coins Activation

Saved Coins shows presets as image or marker tiles. A saved coin can use a fixed image, fixed name, fixed ticker, and any other **Set** overrides you add.

Use Saved Coins when you want reusable launch tiles that can be reordered and scanned visually. Open the Saved Coins tab settings to adjust thumbnail size or switch to rectangular boxes.

## Keyboard Shortcut Behavior

Keyboard activation runs the first matching saved shortcut. If you use hotkeys heavily, keep launch-mode shortcuts specific and easy to distinguish from normal workspace shortcuts.

Good keyboard shortcut choices:

* Use modifier keys for launch-mode presets.
* Avoid single-key launch shortcuts.
* Keep shortcut labels visible in Saved Coins when possible.
